ERIE, Pa. – The Elmira men's tennis team posted a 7-2 decision over Penn State Behrend in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon.
The Soaring Eagles (1-2) collected their first win of the season, capturing five singles and two doubles matches for the victory.
The Lions (2-4), playing in their third match in three days, picked up wins at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles by forfeit.
Brett Palmer (North East, PA/North East) took a set from his opponent at No. 5 singles, falling in the first game by a close 7-5 decision, before winning 6-0 and then falling 6-1 in the final set.
Behrend returns to action on March 18 at Houghton. Match begins at 6 p.m.
