Men's Tennis Finishes Season With 9-0 Win Over Thiel

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team finished up the 2017 season with an impressive 9-0 win over Thiel in non-conference action on Thursday at the Pennbriar Athletic Club.

The Lions (12-10) earned their 12th win, sweeping the Tomcats in all three doubles and abbreviated singles matches. Four players had two wins on the day, starting with Brent McFarland (Austinburg, OH/Geneva) at No. 1 doubles and singles. He posted a 10-1 win in singles and then joined Michael Duckett (Girard, PA/Fairview) for an 8-3 win in doubles action.

Duckett picked up his second win at No. 4 singles against Nick Peroni, 10-7.

Jeremy Burnheimer (Johnstown, PA/Westmont Hilltop) competed at No. 2 singles, winning 10-5 and then won again at No. 2 doubles with Nick Kapty (Monongahela, PA/Ringgold), 8-2.

Noah Colvin (Warren, PA/Warren) was the fourth double winner. He posted a 10-1 decision over Eric Mitchel at No. 5 singles and then paired up with Chris Heintz (Fairview, PA/Fairview) to collect an 8-6 victory at No. 3 doubles.

Brett Palmer (North East, PA/North East) and Eric Cho (Seoul, South Korea/Cotter (MN)) each won their singles matches. Palmer tallied a 10-6 decision in the third position and Cho earned a 10-4 win at the sixth spot.
