Men's Tennis Falls To Franciscan in Regular-Season Finale

ROBINSON, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team secured the No. 2 seed for the upcoming Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Tournament after falling to undefeated Franciscan 9-0 on Sunday afternoon.

The Barons (12-9, 5-0 AMCC) narrowly won two of the three doubles matches, posting 8-6 victories at No. 1 and 2 to take a 3-0 lead into the singles competition.

Scott Russell (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) took Jarek Sulak to a tiebreaker set in the second game, but fell 6-3, 7-6 (9-7) at No. 2 singles.

The Lions (12-7, 4-1 AMCC) will receive a first-round bye in the AMCC Tournament and face Penn State Altoona in the semifinals on Saturday, April 21 at 6:30 at Westwood Racquet Club.
