Men's Tennis Opens Season at Pitt-Greensburg Saturday

GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team begins the 2021 season at Pitt-Greensburg tomorrow in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action. No fans are permitted at the Greensburg Racquet Club. The match begins at 1 p.m. 

Penn State Behrend News & Notes:

* The Behrend Lions tallied an 8-7 overall record and 4-0 mark in the conference
* The Lions roster showcases seven players, including three seniors
* Noah Colvin (Warren, PA/Warren), Kyle Thomas (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek), and Belden Tuttle (Fairview, PA/Fairview) will lead the way for the Lions
* Tuttle was named an All-AMCC First Team selection as a sophomore
* Behrend will play five matches and will compete at the AMCC Championships on Saturday, April 17  
* Last season, the Lions defeated Pitt-Greensburg 6-3 on Sept. 7, 2019
* Head Coach Jeff Barger enters his 23rd season with the Lions

* The Bobcats are 1-1 to open the 2021 season
* Pitt-Greensburg defeated Medaille 6-3 on Feb. 27 and then fell to Mt. Aloysius 5-4 last Sunday
* The Bobcats have nine players on this year's roster; two seniors, two juniors and five freshmen
* Head Coach Doug Smeltzer enters his fourth season with Pitt-Greensburg
