Men's Tennis Defeats Altoona; Lions Secure No. 3 Seed in AMCC Tourney

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team clinched the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships with a 7-2 win over Penn State Altoona on Saturday.

Key Moments:


* Matthew Brown (Oviedo, FL/Paul J. Hagerty) and Belden Tuttle (Fairview, PA/Fairview) each won at No. 4 and 5 singles to extending their winning streak to three matches
* Brown won 6-3, 6-3 and Tuttle earned a 7-5, 6-0 victory to help the Lions pull out the conference win
* Tuttle joined Kyle Thomas (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) and Noah Colvin (Warren, PA/Warren) in winning twice on the day
* Colvin and Thomas won 8-2 at No. 1 doubles
* Thomas earned his first victory at No. 1 singles, posting a 6-3, 6-4 decision
* Colvin followed at No. 2 singles with a 6-2, 6-2 victory, while Michael Brudy (Gibsonia, PA/Pine Richland) defeated 6-1, 6-0 against Jaydan Jacobs at third singles
* The final points belongs to Brudy and Tuttle at No. 2 doubles (8-2)

* Behrend returns to action on Saturday against Pitt-Greensburg in the AMCC Semifinals at Westwood Racquet Club. The match begins approximately at 6 p.m.
