Men's Tennis Battles Thiel, St. Vincent This Weekend

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team will compete in two matches in a span of three days this weekend. The Lions will host Thiel on Friday at 4 p.m. at Westwood Racquet Club and then hit the road to face St. Vincent on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Penn State Behrend News & Notes:

* The Lions are back in action since the four matches over spring break
* Behrend is looking to bounce back from an 0-4 week
* Mitchell May (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) ranks first on the team with seven singles wins
* Johnathan Laier (Lansing, MI/Holt) has five singles wins at the No. 1 spot
* The Lions have three more Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) matches before the conference playoffs on April 23-24
* Behrend is 6-8 overall and 2-0 in the AMCC
* The last time the Lions defeated Thiel was a 9-0 win on April 27, 2017

* St. Vincent fell 9-0 to Hanover and 6-3 to Bridgewater in Hilton Head, S.C.
* The Bearcats will travel to Daemen College on Saturday before hosting the Lions on Sunday
* Last time St. Vincent played the Lions, the Bearcats posted an 8-1 victory on March 4, 2019 in Hilton Head, S.C.
