Lions Westminster Mini-Meet Results

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's track and field team competed at the Westminster Mini-Meet on Thursday, in hopes to fine tune their skills for next week's Mason Dixon Conference Championships.

Mid-distance runners Craig Webb (51.59 seconds) and Jordan Telin (51.86 seconds) took second and third in the 400m dash.

Karl Kallgren (2nd), Chris Henley (3rd), Denny Lydon (4th) and David Nguyen (5th) all placed in the men's 1500m race. The Lion-four who crossed the line as a group were led by Kallgren. The junior recorded a time of 4:18.38. In the next distance event, Alex Myers held second-place honors in the 5000m run (16:32.22).

Brian Lauff (15.49 seconds) and Cody Bupp (16.15 seconds) then brought home the top-two spots in the 110m hurdles, great times despite such harsh winds. Cody Bupp was next up, the freshman placed first in the 400m hurdles, 56.68 seconds.

The Behrend 4x4 relay team just missed out on a first-place finish. The squad was beat by Westminster in four-tenths of a second. The four men, Shane Cyphert, Telin, Webb and Bupp recorded a time of 3:36.08.

In field events, Michael Johnson cleared an event-best 1.85m. Dylan Beck and Evern Lee won their first events of the year, Beck (5.95m) in the long jump and Lee (12.77m) in the triple jump.

John Cerminara wrapped the day up with two second-place finishes. Cerminara tossed the shot put 13.43m, before throwing the discus 38.08m.
