ECAC Indoor Championships Day Two Results

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Five individual athletes and two relay teams from the Penn State Behrend men's and women's track and field teams competed at the ECAC Indoor Championships on Saturday afternoon.

Kalil Slaughter (Sheffield, PA/Sheffield) led the way for the Lions with a fifth place finish in the 200m.  Slaughter crossed the finish line at 22.40.  Slaughter's time set a new school record and earned him All-ECAC recognition.

Conor MacMannis (Stafford, VA/Kubeszki) and Kevin Gardner (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) competed in the high jump for Behrend.  MacMannis tied for 12th place at 1.91m.  Gardner placed 22nd at 1.86m.

John Cerminara (Williamsburg, VA/Jamestown) rounded out the male participants for the Lions.  Cerminara took 18th place in the shot put after hitting 13.54m.

On the women's side, Catie Bertges  (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy), Katie Spade (Warren, PA/Warren), Jamie Szramowski (Pittsburgh, PA/Oakland Catholic), and Victoria Harwood (Fair Haven, NJ/Rumson-Fair Haven) turned in an All-ECAC performance in the 4x800m relay.  The squad took sixth place with a time of 9:38.71.

In the 4x400m relay, Jen Gibson (Hookstown, PA/South Side), Nicole Teribery (Bradford, PA/Bradford), Alex Paget-Blanc (Paris, France / Aelene Boucher), and Abby Gilmore (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) placed 10th at 4:20.90.

Spade also competed in the 800m.  The junior had an All-ECAC performance in the event and placed eighth with a time of 2:18.89.
