Lions Compete at Kane Invitational

ITHACA, NY -- The Penn State Behrend men's track and field team competed in the Kane Invitational at Cornell University on Saturday afternoon.

In the men's 4x800 meter relay, the team of Jerome Geibel (Butler, PA/Butler), Devin Beggs (Franklin, PA/Franklin), Matt McWilliams (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf), and Josh Natalie (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) qualified for ECACs with a third place finish of 8:08.08.

McWilliams again qualified with his time of 1:59.05 in the 800 meter run. That time was good for a seventh place finish. Beggs came in 13th in the same event with a time of 2:00.32.

Malik Moffett-Pulliam (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) was an ECAC qualifier in the 200 meter dash. The freshman came in seventh place with a time of 22.94 seconds.

In the 60 meter dash, Joey Wall (Monogahela, PA/Ringgold) came in fourth place with a time of 7.12 seconds.

Natalie carded a 13th place finish in the 500 meter dash with a time of 1:09.06.

In the 60 meter hurdles, Matthew Grafton (Worthington, PA/Kittanning, PA) and Andres Morales (Alajuela, Costa Rica/ICS) finished 14th and 19th with times of 8.25 and 9.24, respectively.

Denis Lydon (Plum, PA/Plum) finished sixth in the 3000m run with a time of 9:00.31.

In the shot put, Anthony Bauccio (Monroeville, PA/Gateway) finished sixth with a distance of 14.09m. Mitchell Obenrader (Fryburg, PA/North Clarion) came in one spot behind Bauccio with a distance of 13.82m.

The Lions will next compete at Mt. Union on February 8.
