Lions Compete at Cal
The Penn State Behrend men’s track and field team traveled east for the California Invitational on Saturday.
CALIFORNIA, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's track and field team traveled east for the California Invitational on Saturday.
Malik Moffett-Pulliam (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) won the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.68 seconds. The freshman wasn't done, as he also won the 200 with a time of 21.68.
Anthony Bauccio (Monroeville, PA/Gateway) took the shot put competition, posting a number of 13.22. Mitchell Obenrader (Fryburg, PA/North Clarion) was right behind, finishing second at 13.05.
Obenrader then won the javelin throw with a distance of 53.73 meters.
Luke Patten (West Middlesex, PA/West Middlesex) finished first in the pole vault at 4.50 meters.
The team of Matthew Grafton (Worthington, PA/Kittanning), Kevin Lai (Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood), Geoffrey Faltot (Mercer, PA/Mercer) , and Pulliam won the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 42.62.
Jeromee Geibel (Butler, PA/Butler), Devin Beggs (Franklin, PA/Franklin), Matt McWilliams (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf), and Josh Natalie (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) finished second in the 4X800 meter relay.
Natalie later finished second in the 800 meter fun with a time of 1:59.84. Beggs posted a fourth place finish in the same event at 2:02.38.
Grafton and Andres Morales came in second and third in the 400 meter hurdles, with times of 56.56 and 57.48, respectively.
Behrend will travel to Defiance on March 29.
