Men's Track and Field Dominates at Carnegie Mellon

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's track and field team posted a first place finish at Carnegie Mellon on Saturday afternoon.

Malik Moffett-Pulliam (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) won three individual events – the freshman finished first in the 100 meter race (11.61 seconds), the high jump (2.04 meters), and the triple jump (12.62 meters).

He was also a part of the Lions winning 4x100 meter relay team alongside Matthew Grafton (Worthington, PA/Kittanning), Kevin Lai (Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood), and Geoffrey Faltot (Mercer, PA/Mercer). The foursome took the top spot at 43.31 seconds.

Grafton won two individual events, taking the 110 meter hurdle race at 16.29 seconds and the 400 meter hurdles at 56.28.

Matt McWilliams (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) captured the 800 meter run with a time of 2:00.51. Devin Beggs (Franklin, PA/Franklin) was close behind, finishing third at 2:02.74.

In the long jump, Faltot posted a second place finish with a distance of 6.36 meters. In addition, Mitchell Obenrader (Fryburg, PA/North Clarion) was runner up in the shot put, going 14.39 meters.

Jeromee Geibel (Butler, PA/Butler) netted a second place finish in the 400 meter run, coming in at 51.85. Josh Natalie (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy-Strong Vincent) ran second in the 1500 at 4:05.46.

Behrend finished with 210 team points – 28 more than the next closest finisher, host Carnegie Mellon.

The Lions will travel to Westminster on April 12.
