Lions Compete at Grove City Invitational

GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's track and field team took part in the Grove City Mini Invitational on Friday afternoon.

The 4x800 meter relay saw the Lions team of Jeromee Geibel (Butler, PA/Butler), Devin Beggs (Franklin, PA/Franklin), Matt McWilliams (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf), and Josh Natalie (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy-Strong Vincent) set a new Behrend outdoor record with a time of 7:54.00. That mark qualifies the group for ECAC's.

In the javelin throw, Mitchell Obenrader (Fryburg, PA/North Clarion) put up a distance of 60.14 meters, qualifying for ECAC's.

The Behrend foursome of Matthew Grafton (Worthington, PA/Kittanning), Kevin Lai (Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood), Luke Patten (West Middlesex, PA/West Middlesex) and Malik Moffett-Pulliam (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) also qualified for ECAC's in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 42.46 seconds.

The Lions will travel to Allegheny on May 9 at 9 a.m. in their final tune-up prior to the 2014 ECAC Championships on May 15-16.
