Lions Chomp Up ECAC Invites at Allegheny Invitational

MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Penn State men's track and field team made the short trip down I-79 for the ninth annual Gator Invitational at Allegheny College on Friday afternoon.

Freshman Mitchell Obenrader (Fryburg, PA/North Clarion) posted a second place finish (58.18 meters) and qualified for ECAC's in the javelin throw.

Matthew Grafton (Worthington, PA/Kittanning) and Andres Morales (Alajuela, Costa Rica/ICS) finished second and third in the 110 meter hurdles with times of 15.65 seconds and 15.93 seconds, respectively. Both Grafton and Morales qualified for ECAC's in the process.

Seth Weible (Johnsonburg, PA/Johnsonburg) also qualified for ECAC's in the discus throw with a distance of 43.70 meters.

In the pole vault, Luke Patten (West Middlesex, PA/West Middlesex) qualified for ECAC's with a mark of 4.70 meters.

Grafton, Patten, Kevin Lai (Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood), and Malik Moffett-Pulliam (Cathedral Prep/Erie, PA) earned a fourth place finish and qualified for ECAC's in the 4x100 meter relay, posting a time of 42.06 seconds.

The Lions will travel to Ohio Wesleyan on May 12 at noon in their final meet before the 2014 ECAC Outdoor Championships.
