Obenrader Wins National Title in Javelin; Moffett-Pulliam Named All-American in 200

DELAWARE, Oh. – Mitchell Obenrader (Fryburg, PA/North Clarion) won the National Championship in the javelin throw competition and Malik Moffett-Pulliam (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) achieved All-American status in the 200 meter dash at the 2014 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday afternoon.

With a throw of 219 feet and 10 inches, Obenrader is the first-ever NCAA Champion in the history of Penn State Behrend athletics and the first-place finish assures the freshman of All-American status.

Obenrader broke his own school record with the 67.01 meter performance.

Moffett-Pulliam finished third in 200 meter dash finals to become an All-American as the freshman broke his own school record in the event with a time of 21.16 seconds. He previously competed in the 100 meter dash event earlier this weekend at the Division III Championships.

The Lions finished 18th out of 82 schools with 16 team points to close out the most successful season in the history of Penn State Behrend track and field.
