Men's Track and Field Wraps Up Regular Season

SANDUSKY ST. DELAWARE Ohio. – The Penn State Behrend men's track and field team competed in their final regular-season invitational Monday afternoon at the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational.

Mitchell Obenrader (Fryburg, PA/North Clarion) led the team with two ECAC qualifying throws. He tossed the javelin 194' 1". The mark was good enough for second place and ECAC qualification. In the shot put, he earned third place with a throw of 51' 0". He also took fifth place in the discus throw with a heave of 142' 9".

Kevin Gardner (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) took a third place finish in the high jump with a mark of 6' .50".

In the 3,000m steeplechase Alan Yocca (Plum, PA/Plum) finished in third with a time of 11:15.68. His teammate Michael Smolinski (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny) finished in fourth with a time of 11:15.69.

The final regular-season invitational is in the books. The ECAC invitational will take place May 15-17 with only qualifying athletes competing. Events on that day will begin the 15th at 4 p.m.
