Men's Track and Field Finishes First Outdoor Meet

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Penn State Behrend men's track and field team completed competition at the Coastal Carolina Invitational Saturday.

Day two consisted of all seeded events, with Dylan Buffington (Brookville, PA/Brookville) and Josh Natalie (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy-Strong Vincent) each breaking the school record in the 1500m.

Buffington set the new record, finishing fourth with a time of 3:58.39 while Natalie took ninth at 4:00.46. Cody Cornell (Conneaut Lake, PA/Conneaut Lake) set a new person record in the event, posting a 4:08.94for 23rd place.

Kevin Gardner (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) was the top collegiate finisher in the high jump. He finished second at a height of 2.03m (6' 8") and Jarrod Lipsy (Kersey, PA/St. Mary's Area) finished 14th in the 3000m steeplechase, posting a time of 10:28.18.

The Lions return from their spring break trip on a high note, and return to action in two weeks for the Good Friday Meet on March 25.
