Obenrader Finishes Third in NCAA Shot Put
Mitchell Obenrader took third place in the shot put in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships Friday.
WAVERLY, Ia. – Mitchell Obenrader (Fryburg, PA/North Clarion) took third place in the shot put in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships Friday.
Obenrader became an All-American for the fourth time in his collegiate career, setting a new Behrend outdoor record with a shot put throw of 17.44m (57' 2.75"). He will compete in the javelin finals tomorrow for a chance to reclaim his national title from two years ago.
Paige Allen (Butler, PA/Butler) also compete on day two of the championships. She placed 11th in the 100m dash prelims with a time of 12.07, but did not qualify for the finals.
Aside from Obenrader, Matt McWilliams (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) competes in the 1500m finals on the final day of the championships, tomorrow.
