Four Named CSAC Athletes of the Week

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend track and field athletes Antonio Stello (Punxsutawney, PA/Punxsutawney), Mason Nolan (Karns City, PA/Karns City), Gabriella Loeffler (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) and Haley Yenchik (Cecil, PA/Canon McMillan) were named Colonial State Athletic Conference (CSAC) athletes of the week, announced on Tuesday.

Stello was recognized as the Men's Track Athlete of the Week for his performance in both the SRU Open and Behrend Invitational. Stello posted the top time is the CSAC in the 200m dash at the SRU Open with a time of 22.17 seconds. That time also makes him the fourth fastest individual in Behrend history. He followed that with a win in both the 100m and 200m at the Behrend Invitational.

Nolan earned the Men's Field Athlete of the Week. Nolan placed second in the shot put at the Behrend Invitational with a throw that also qualified him for the All-Atlantic meet. Nolan's toss of 13.86m became a new PR for him by almost a whole meter. Nolan also threw discus for the first time this season, claiming the fifth best mark in the CSAC.

Loeffler was named Women's Track Athlete of the Week. She posted best times in four events in the CSAC. She ran a 1:00.67, 400m at the Behrend Invitational to claim the top spot along with being part of the best 4x100m team in the CSAC. Loeffler also posted best times in the 100m and 200m at the SRU Open.

Yenchik was chosen for Women's Field Athlete of the Week this week. She posted a season best and top CSAC mark in the long jump at the Behrend Invitational. The leap of 5.00m claimed first place at Behrend. Yenchik also finished first in the pole vault with a height of 3.50m along with a win in the 100m dash registering second best in the CSAC. Yenchik took third in the pole vault at Slippery Rock against a field of Division II & III All-Americans.
