Three Track and Field Athletes Set for NCAA Indoor Championship

ERIE, Pa. - Three Penn State Behrend track and field athletes will be competing at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships Friday and Saturday. The event is held at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina with Visit Winston-Salem and Guilford College serving as hosts. Three is the most men's track and field athletes taken to the NCAA Indoor Championship in program history.

Braeden Smith (Erie, PA/Seneca) will be competing in the men's high jump event. Smith is currently ranked in 8th place in the nation with a jump of 2.08m. This will be Smith's second time at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship after finishing eighth last season and being named an All-American.

Nick Lachut (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) and Jack Georgetson (Aliquippa, PA/Hopewell) will be representing the Lions in the men's pole vault. Lachut qualified for the NCAA Championship in the 17th spot in Division III. He is coming in with a 4.81m mark. Georgeston is ranked 20th in the pole vault with a mark of 4.80m.
