Smith Tabbed Mideast Field Athlete of the Year; Colley Named Assistant Coach of the Year

ERIE, Pa. – Junior Braeden Smith (Erie, PA/Seneca) was selected as the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Indoor Mideast Region Field Athlete of the Year and assistant coach Josh Colley earned Assistant Coach of the Year honors.

Smith is set to compete in the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championship this weekend. He qualified in the high jump and is ranked eighth in the nation with a mark of 2.08m. This will be Smith's second time at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship after finishing eighth last season and being named an All-American. Smith was the top-ranked high jumper in the Mideast Region.

Colley earned Men's Assistant Coach of the Year honors in his second year at Behrend. He led jumpers and other athletes to PRs this season. Colley designs the conditioning and strength training programs for the team's sprinters and jumpers, including the three athletes who have qualified for the NCAA Championships. Colley is an invaluable asset to the track and field program.
