Men's Track and Field Opens Season at Mount Union

ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Penn State Behrend men's track and field team kicked off the 2021-22 season at the Toy Drive Invite hosted by Mount Union on Saturday, placing first in two events.  

Key Moments:
* Phoenix Myers (Erie, PA/Seneca) paced all runners in the one mile run with a time of 4:33.34
* Nick Temel (Conneaut Lake, PA/Conneaut Lake) and Aidan Domencic (Cranberry Twp., PA/Seneca Valley) crossed the finish line right behind Myers in second and third place, respectively with Jason Visosky (Erie, PA/McDowell) rounding out the Top-5
* Myers also finished first in the 5000m with a time of 16:10.55
* Behrend finished in second place in the 1600m relay as the group of Temel, Eric Stehlik (Northport, NY/Northport), Kody Klein (North East, PA/Cathedral Prep) and Nick Hartman (Cranberry Twp., PA/Seneca Valley) concluded at 3:34.49
* Christopher Annear (Fredonia, NY/Fredonia) placed second in the 3000m with a time of 9:53.78
* Nick Post (Union City, PA/Seneca) and Caleb Torres (Macungie, PA/Emmaus) ended the 3000m in fourth and fifth place
* Islam Daghestani (Meadville, PA/Meadville Area) took third place, tied with one other having a 4.08m pole vault
* Brady Smith (Erie, PA/Seneca) placed second in the high jump with a leap of 2.00m
