Lions to Compete in 10 Events at AARTFC Championships

ERIE, Pa. – The men's track and field teams head to Rochester, NY this weekend for the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Championships hosted by Nazareth.

* The Lions peaked as high as No. 19 in the national rankings this season
* Behrend will appear in 10 different events this weekend
* Eric Stehlik (Northport, NY/Northport) qualified for a team-high four events (60m, 400m, 4x200, distance medley)
* Samuel Hetrick (New Bethlehem, PA/Redbank Valley) and Braeden Smith (Erie, PA/Seneca) each qualified for the high jump with marks of 2.10m and 2.08m, respectively
* Hetrick enters Friday as the No. 2 seed for the event and Smith at No. 3
* Evan States (Punxsutawney, PA/Punxsutawney) also qualified for the event with a leap of 1.80m
* Antonio Stello (Punxsutawney, PA/Punxsutawney) will appear in the 60m, 200m and the 4x200
* Kody Klein (North East, PA/Cathedral Prep) will carry the 14th best time into the 800m with a mark of 1:55.92
* Phoenix Myers (Erie, PA/Seneca) will represent the Lions in the one mile, registering six top-10 finishes this season and placing first twice
* Blake Burns (Jefferson, OH/Jefferson) hit a career high in the 60m hurdles last time out with a time of 8.44, also qualifying for the AARTFC event
* Ryan Festa (Horsham, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) hit his career best at the Edinboro Invite two weeks ago in the pole vault, finishing in second place with a mark of 4.40m
* Festa carries the 11th highest mark into the event this weekend
* Behrend also qualified for the 4x200 and distance medley
