Smith and Hetrick Earn All-American Ranks at NCAA Championship

GENEVA, Ohio – Penn State Behrend men's track and field athletes Braeden Smith (Erie, PA/Seneca) and Samuel Hetrick (New Bethlehem, PA/Redbank Valley) clinched NCAA All-American status on Friday, finishing in the top-8 in the high jump at the NCAA Championships.

Smith became an All-American for the third time in his career, placing sixth out of 19. Smith finished with a mark of 2.05m with three points on Friday. Hetrick earned his first national accolade, finishing eighth at 2.05m and one point.

The Lions finish the NCAA Championships with all three entrants finishing in the top-8 to earn the title All-American as Dan Dabrowski (Harborcreek, PA/Harborcreek) finished eighth in discus on Thursday with a final mark of 49.73m.
