ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's indoor track & field team started a new season, competing at the Houghton December Classic held at the Kerr-Pegula Field House on Friday night.

Key Moments:

* Three athletes hit AARTFC qualifying marks while Kody Klein (North East, PA/Cathedral Prep) and Antonio Stello (Punxsutawney, PA/Punxsutawney) took first place for the Lions
* Klein won the 800m race with a time of 1:58.88 while Stello won the 200m (22.94)
* Stello also beat his preliminary time to set a new personal record in the 60m for second place with an AARTFC qualifying time of 7.02
* Ryan Festa (Horsham, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) reached an AARTFC mark in the pole vault, placing second with a height of 14-5 feet, ¼ inches
* Alex Cotton (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch) was the third athlete to get an AARTFC mark in the men's shot put, throwing 45-5 feet and ¼ inches for sixth overall
* In the 3000m, Aidan Domencic (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) and Bennett Kerr (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) were fourth and fifth, respectively
* Domencic clocked in at 9:36.76 and Kerr was three seconds behind (9:39.64)
* Max Rohl (Horsehead, NY/Horsehead) managed to place seventh in the shot put in his first collegiate meet (44-8.25) and ninth in the weight throw (41-10)
* In the high jump, Tanner Moore (Mansfield, OH/Crestview) led the team with a fifth-place finish (6-1 feet, ¼ inches)
* Blake Burns (Jefferson, OH/Jefferson Area) clocked in with a time of 8.49 for fourth in the finals of the 60m hurdles
