Hetrick Breaks High Jump Record; Lions Compete at Wittenberg

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Samuel Hetrick (New Bethlehem, PA/Redbank Valley) set a new school record in the high jump and holds the top spot in Division III with a height of 2.11m to lead the Penn State Behrend men's indoor track & field team at Wittenberg on Saturday.

Key Moments:

* Hetrick set the record on his seventh try to reach 2.11m for first place
* Anand Bhambhwani (Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon) was second in the high jump, setting a new personal record and an AARTFC qualifying mark of 1.96m
* Bhambhwani also set a personal record in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.61 for third place
* Blake Burns (Jefferson, OH/Jefferson Area) led the Lions in the 60m hurdles, reaching the finish line in first with a personal-best time of 8.40
* In the pole vault, Ryan Festa (Horsham, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) was second overall with a height of 14'8.75" followed by Islam Daghestani (Meadville, PA/Meadville Area) in fourth (13'11")
* Taking fourth in the triple jump was Matt Laslavic (Evans City, PA/Seneca Valley) with a leap of 41'6.5"
* Antonio Stello (Punxsutawney, PA/Punxsutawney) had two sixth-place finishes on the day
* Stello ran 7.08 in the 60m and 22.43 in the 200m
* Kody Klein (North East, PA/Cathedral Prep), Stello, Aidan Reinsel (North East, PA/North East), Brendan Luce (Lakewood, NY/Southwestern) combined for a 3:37.77 in the 4x400m relay for fifth place
* Klein led a slew of Behrend runners in the mile, taking seventh with a personal-best of 4:20.87
* Jason Seevers (North East, PA/North East) ran 1:59.57 in the 800m for eighth place
* Another eighth-place finish went to Dan Dabrowski (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) in the shot put (43'11.25")
