Dabrowski Breaks Discus Record at Mt. Union Invitational

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Dan Dabrowski (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) broke the Penn State Behrend outdoor men's track & field team discus record while placing first to lead the Lions at the John Homon Open hosted by Mt. Union on Friday.

Key Moments:

* Dabrowski was one of three who won an event for Behrend, capturing the discus with a record-breaking distance of 51.13m
* Samuel Hetrick (New Bethlehem, PA/Redbank Valley) won the high jump (1.95m) and Anand Bhambhwani (Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon) came in second with a height of 1.90m
* Emil George (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) set a new personal record by winning the 10K in 36:21.19
* The Lions also had four second-place finishes, starting with Bhambhwani in the high jump
* Blake Burns (Jefferson, OH/Jefferson Area) had an AARTFC qualifying mark in the 110m hurdles to place second (15.05) and Bhambhwani came in fourth with a qualifying time of 15.67
* Islam Daghestani (Meadville, PA/Meadville Area) hit a personal record in the pole vault with an AARTFC mark of 4.46m for second place
* Matthew Laslavic (Evans City, PA/Seneca Valley) threw 47.10m for second place in the javelin
* Kody Klein (North East, PA/Cathedral Prep) had the third-best time in the 3000m steeplechase (9:55.95), while Alex Cotton (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch) placed sixth in the shot put (13.01m)
