Behrend's 4x4 Relay Team Sets New School Record At SPIRE Indoor Games

GENEVA, Ohio – The 4x4 relay team of Brendan Luce (Lakewood, NY/Southwestern), Jake Walden (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep), Kody Klein (North East, PA/Cathedral Prep), and Jake Egizio (Canonsburg, PA/Canon-McMillan) set a new Penn State Behrend men's indoor track & field record Saturday in Geneva.

Key Moments:

* The 4x4 relay team placed fourth with a time of 3:23.85 to trump the previous record of 3:23.98 that was set by the team of Dylan Buffington, Greg Graf, Cody Cornell, and Matthew Grafton at SPIRE on January 30, 2016
* Junior Matthew Laslavic (Evans City, PA/Seneca Valley) was the top-finisher in the field for the Lions
* Laslavic jumped a 39-9 1/4 in the triple jump for an eighth-place finish
* In the high jump, Samuel Hetrick (New Bethlehem, PA/Redbank Valley) finished 12th with a score of 6-2
Brandon Konieczki (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) recorded a score of 21-2 3/4 for 15th-place in the long jump
* The Lions placed 16th, 17th, and 19th in the 3000m AM run as Nicolin Pierce (Erie, PA/McDowell), Emil George (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick), and Peyton Brewer (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) registered times of 9:32.98, 9:36.38, and 9:45.71, respectively
