Behrend Track & Field Named to All-Academic Team; Four Individuals Honored
The Penn State Behrend women's track and field teams was named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team for the NCAA Division III indoor/outdoor seasons.
ERIE, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend women's track and field teams was named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team for the NCAA Division III indoor/outdoor seasons.
A program must have at least a 3.10 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale. The women garnered a 3.44 GPA and had two student-athletes named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team. Senior Madison Kappeler (Cecil, PA/Canon-McMillan) and sophomore Julia Balaski (Mercer, PA/Mercer) achieved NCAA Division III All-Academic Athlete status.
On the men's team, senior Dan Dabrowski (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) earned All-Academic honors for a fourth year in a row and senior Samuel Hetrick (New Bethlehem, PA/Redbank Valley) earned the honor in back-to-back seasons.
To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.30, have finished the indoor season among the top 50 individuals as listed on the descending order lists on TFRRS. In addition, any athletes not among the top 50, but who participated at the Indoor or Outdoor National Championships, are eligible.
