Three Lions Finish First At Highlander Invitational
The Penn State Behrend men’s indoor track & field team was back in action at the Houghton Highlander Invitational on Saturday.
HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The Penn State Behrend men's indoor track & field team was back in action at the Houghton Highlander Invitational on Saturday.
Key Moments:
* Ryan Festa (Horsham, PA/Hatboro-Horsham), Alex Cotton (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch), and Derek Hillhouse (Erie, PA/McDowell) were first-place finishers for the Lions on Saturday
* Festa tallied a height of 14-7 ¼ in the pole vault, while Hillhouse jumped 6-2 ¼ in the high jump
* Cotton scored an AARTFC qualifying distance of 50-0 ½ in the shot put
* Fellow throwers Dan Dabrowski (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) and Antonio Faraone (New Castle, PA/Union) placed fourth and fifth in the shot put with distances 43-1 ¾ and 42-9 ½, respectively
* In the 60m hurdles, Dominic Marino (Girard, PA/Girard) ran a fourth-place time of 9.05
* Cole Cunningham (Mercer, PA/Mercer) finished fourth in the long jump with a mark of 21-4 ¼
* Freshmen Carter Tobin (Irwin, PA/Norwin) (200m/23.07) and Boden Gushie (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) (High Jump/5-8 ½) placed seventh in their respective events
* Max Rohl (Horsehead, NY/Horseheads) threw an eighth-place distance of 42-2 in the weight throw
* Distance runners Bennett Kerr (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) registered a 3000m time of 9:32.26, while Drew Knight was 10th in the 800m (2:06.39)
