HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The Penn State Behrend men's indoor track & field team competed in its final tune-up meet prior to conference championships at the Last Chance Qualifier Meet, hosted by Houghton on Saturday.
Key Moments:
* Brandon Konieczki (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) and Carter Tobin (Irwin, PA/Norwin) each secured AARTFC qualifying times on Saturday
* Konieczki ran a personal best time of 7.01 in the 60m prelims, while Tobin delivered a personal record in the 200m (22.37)
* Marshall Nock (Aliquippa, PA/Hopewell) registered a personal best time of 7.03 to follow Konieczki to the 60m finals
* In the finals, Konieczki (7.07) and Nock (7.09) finished second and fourth
* Konieczki completed his day with third place in the long jump (21-0 ½), followed by Cole Cunningham (Mercer, PA/Mercer) in fifth (20-10 ¾)
* Sophomore Jake Egizio (Canonsburg, PA/Canon-McMillan) notched second (22.57) in the 200m and fifth in the 60m finals (7.18). Jake Nardozza (Harrison City, PA/Penn-Trafford) had a time of 23.03 in the 200m for fifth
* Jumper Derek Hillhouse (Erie, PA/McDowell) scored a victory with a mark of 5-10 ¾
* In the shot put, Alex Cotton (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch) (51-5 ¾), Antonio Faraone (New Castle, PA/Union) (43-8), Dan Dabrowski (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) (42-8), and Max Rohl (Horsehead, NY/Horseheads) (42-3 ¼/Season Best) placed first, second, third, and fifth, respectively
* David Friedrich (North Collins, NY/St. Francis) won the 400m with a personal best time of 52.84, while Teddy Ola Jr. (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) (53.95) and Shlok Chavda (Chantilly, VA/Freedom South Riding) (54.61) crossed the finish line in second and fourth in this event
* Distance runners Tim Hamilton (Winchester, MA/Winchester) (4:50.34/Mile), David Gahagan (South Park, PA/South Park) (2:01.83/800), and Drew Knight (Butler, PA/Butler) (2:02.02) claimed fourth through sixth in their respective events. This marked a career-best mark for Knight
* In the 3000m, the Lions grabbed the second to seventh spots thanks to Bennett Kerr (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) (9:25.40), Hamilton (9:31.99), Alex Haskins (North East, PA/North East) (9:33.56), Peyton Brewer (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) (9:38.76), Joey George (Leechburg, PA/Kiski) (9:46.95), and Emil George (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) (9:56.92)
* The 4x4 relay team of Ola, Egizio, Kody Klein (North East, PA/Cathedral Prep), and Aidan Reinsel (North East, PA/North East) ended the meet with a first place time of 3:37.00
