Six Behrend Men Track & Field Athletes Punch Ticket To Regionals
The Penn State Behrend men’s track & field team had six athletes qualify for the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Outdoor Championships at the Dave Labor Invitational, hosted by Slippery Rock on Saturday.
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's track & field team had six athletes qualify for the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Outdoor Championships at the Dave Labor Invitational, hosted by Slippery Rock on Saturday.
Key Moments:
* The 4x1 relay team of Marshall Nock (Aliquippa, PA/Hopewell), Jake Egizio (Canonsburg, PA/Canon-McMillan), Carter Tobin (Irwin, PA/Norwin), and Brandon Konieczki (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) were victorious with an AARTFC qualifying time of 42.07
* Dan Dabrowski (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) earned third in the discus throw championship with a mark of 157-10, while Alex Cotton (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch) placed 14th (140-6)
* Cotton went on to finish seventh in the shot put championship with an outdoor personal best of 52-6 and was followed by Antonio Faraone (New Castle, PA/Union) in 16th (44-11)
* Tobin qualified for regionals and finals with a season best time of 10.72 in the 100m prelims. Konieczki ran a career best and regional qualifying time of 10.84 for 10th place
* In the 100m dash finals, Tobin finished seventh with a time of 10.83. He also recorded fifth in the 200m (21.82), while Konieczki finished 11th (22.52)
* Dominic Marino (Girard, PA/Girard) delivered a personal record and AARTFC qualifying time of 15.60 in the 110m hurdle finals for sixth place
* Freshmen Charlie Motter (Oil City, PA/Oil City) threw 169-2 in the javelin to qualify for regionals and place eighth, while fellow freshman Braden Balaski (Mercer, PA/Mercer) tossed 159-11 for 10th
* Derek Hillhouse (Erie, PA/McDowell) (6-0 ¾) and Boden Gushie (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) placed 11th and 19th in the high jump
* Throwers Ryan Visosky (Erie, PA/McDowell) threw a personal best 134-0 for first in the discus throw open
* Distance runners Emil George (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) (35:31.40) and Bennett Kerr (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) (10:26.32) both crossed the finish line in 13th in the 10000m and 3000m steeplechase
* Freshmen Shlok Chavda (Chantilly, VA/Freedom South Riding) (400m Hurdles/1:00.10) and Cole Cunningham (Mercer, PA/Mercer) (Long Jump/20-3 ¾) tallied 11th and 20th in their respective events
