Dabrowski Destroys School/Meet Discus Record; Behrend Registers Runner-Up Finish At Conference Championships
Penn State Behrend men’s track & field senior Dan Dabrowski (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) set a new school record and meet record in the discus on the final day of State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Conference Outdoor Championships.

CORTLAND, N.Y. – Penn State Behrend men's track & field senior Dan Dabrowski (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) set a new school record and meet record in the discus on the final day of State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Conference Outdoor Championships.
Noteworthy:
* Freshman Carter Tobin (Irwin, PA/Norwin) was named the SUNYAC Rookie of the Meet after scoring 20.75 total points for the weekend. The Rookie of the Meet is given to the student-athlete who scores the most team points across first-year competitors at the conference championship
Key Moments:
* Dabrowski secured a gold medal in the discus on his second attempt with a mark of 162-5

* Dabrowski secured a gold medal in the discus on his second attempt with a mark of 162-5
* On his final throw, Dabrowski sent a toss of 174-11, shattering his own school record of 171-5 that was set at regionals last season
* This distance also broke the 46-year-old meet record of 169-11 that Plattsburgh's John MacMinnamin recorded in 1979
* Dabrowski now ranks third in all of Division III in the discus
* Alex Cotton (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch) and Ryan Visosky (Erie, PA/McDowell) headed to the podium with Dabrowski as they were fourth and eighth in the discus with a distance of 146-6 and a career best 134-9
* Tobin earned individual champion in the 100m finals with a time of 10.92 and then would go on to claim a silver medal in the 200m (21.79)
* Tobin was followed by Jake Egizio (Canonsburg, PA/Canon-McMillan) in the 200m, who finished with a time of 22.27 for sixth place
* Egizio also ran an eighth place time of 54.38 in the 400m finals
* Tobin and Egizio were members of the 4x1 relay team, along with Dominic Marino (Girard, PA/Girard) and Logan Brewer (South Park, PA/South Park) that registered a bronze medal time of 42.75
* The 4x4 relay team of L. Brewer, Tobin, Egizio, and Nicolin Pierce (Erie, PA/McDowell) qualified for regionals with a season best time of 3:23.48 for fourth place
* Aiden Grieneisen (Brockway, PA/Brockway Area) tallied a silver medal throw of 166-6 in the javelin, while Charlie Motter (Oil City, PA/Oil City) (153-8), Braden Balaski (Mercer, PA/Mercer) (145-9), and Morgan McCall (Meadville, PA/Milton Hershey School) (131-11) placed fourth, fifth, and ninth, respectively
* In the shot put, Antonio Faraone (New Castle, PA/Union) recorded a regional qualifying and season best toss of 48-8 ¾ for a bronze medal, followed by Cotton (48-4 ¾) and Visosky (42-8 ¾) in fourth and eighth place
* Five Lions found the podium in the 3000m steeplechase, highlighted by Tim Hamilton's (Winchester, MA/Winchester) personal record time of 9:56.18 for bronze with the other athletes being Peyton Brewer Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) (9:57.01/Fourth Place), Aidan Reinsel (North East, PA/North East) (10:09.70/Fifth Place/PR), Aiden Seeman (Edinboro, PA/General McLane) (10:16.62/Seventh Place/PR), and Bennett Kerr (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) (10:22.38/Eighth Place). Alex Haskins (North East, PA/North East) also placed 10th in this event with a career best time of 10:33.71
* Shlok Chavda (Chantilly, VA/Freedom South Riding) and Reinsel notched times of 58.93 and 1:00.18 for fifth and seventh in the 400m hurdles finals
* Drew Knight (Butler, PA/Butler) (1500m/4:08.50/PR) and Pierce (800m Finals/1:57.11) made their way to the podium in their respective events with fourth and fifth-place finishes
* Senior Emil George (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) registered sixth place in the 10k with a personal record time of 34:57.59
* Jumpers Boden Gushie (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) (6-0 ¾/T-PR) and Derek Hillhouse (Erie, PA/McDowell) (5-10 ¾) were fifth and 10th in the high jump
* In the 5k, Haskins, Kerr, and Michael Werner (Erie, PA/Seneca) placed 10th, 11th, and 13th with times of 16:26.36, 16:28.33, and a personal best time of 16:40.32
* Behrend decathlon participant freshman Trent Turner (Selinsgrove, PA/Selinsgrove) finished fourth with a total score of 2164
* On the final day of competition, Turner took third in the pole vault (9-2 ¼) and fourth in the discus

* As a team, the Lions were second out of 11 schools with a team score of 138
* Cortland garnered 246.5 points to claim the SUNYAC Outdoor Championship
* The top-3 finishers in each event earn a spot on the SUNYAC All-Conference Team
