Steele Leads Lions Over SUNYIT

ROCHESTER, NY – Nate Steele (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) had a team-high 12 kills, three aces and two blocks to lead the Penn State Behrend men's volleyball team past SUNYIT 3-0 at the United Volleyball Conference (UVC) Crossover hosted by Nazareth this weekend.

On the first out of two days of competition, the Lions (5-13, 3-5 UVC) defeated the Wildcats (2-15, 0-8 UVC) by scores of 25-13, 25-20 and 25-20. In the first set, Behrend had 13 kills on 22 attacks for a 54.5 hitting percentage.

Grant Kocher (McMurray, PA/Peters Township) and Tory Larson (Penn Hills, PA/Homeschooled) each had seven kills. Kocher had a hitting percentage of 54.5 and Larson added two aces. Evan Fullerton (Ambridge, PA/Ambridge) led with 22 assists.

The Lions return to action tomorrow against NYU and Vassar. The first match starts at 11:15 a.m.
