Lions Fall Twice on Day Two of UVC Crossover

ROCHESTER, NY – The Penn State Behrend men's volleyball team faced two nationally-ranked opponents on the second day of the United Volleyball Conference (UVC) Crossover, falling to No. 6 New York University and No. 10 Vassar, 3-0.

The Lions (5-15, 3-7 UVC) battled NYU in the first match of the day and lost 25-23, 25-14 and 25-22. In the second match, Vassar handed Behrend a 25-14, 25-13 and 25-7 loss.

Nate Steele (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) posted a combined 11 kills, getting seven against NYU and four vs. Vassar. Clay Dawson (Saegertown, PA/Saegertown) tallied five digs and Tory Larson (Penn Hills, PA/Homeschooled) added four kills in the opening match.

Against Vassar, Grant Kocher (McMurray, PA/Peters Township) recorded six digs, while Evan Fullerton (Ambridge, PA/Ambridge) led with nine assists and seven digs.

The Lions return to action on Wednesday against Hilbert. Match begins at 8 p.m.
