AURORA, NY – Playing in their final regular-season match, the Penn State Behrend men's volleyball team swept Wells 3-0 in non-conference action on Thursday night.
The Lions (9-17), who faced the Express less than three weeks ago, posted the same outcome again this time winning 25-16, 25-12 and 25-9.
Nate Steele (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) and Anthony Capizzi (Pittsburgh, PA/Pittsburgh Central Catholic) each tallied eight kills. Steele also contributed six digs and Capizzi led with five blocks.
Tory Larson (Penn Hills, PA/Homeschooled) was able to knock down seven kills and Kevin Dyer (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) got six kills to fall.
Evan Fullerton (McMurray, PA/McMurray) and Colin Ingram (Hilliard, OH/Hilliard Darby) recorded 18 and 11 assists, respectively.
Behrend returns to action next Saturday in the quarterfinals of the United Volleyball Conference (UVC) Championships. Match begins at 3:30 p.m.
