Men's Volleyball Named UVC All-Academic Team

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's volleyball squad was named to the 2016 United Volleyball Conference (UVC) All-Academic Team for registering a team grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher for the spring semester. 

The Lions had a combined GPA of 3.23 to be one of six teams honored on the All-Academic Team. The UVC also recognized 48 student-athletes from the league's nine full-time members for their contributions on the court and their excellence in the classroom. Seniors Josh Oertly (Cochranton, PA/Cochranton), Eric Theiss (Plum, PA/Plum), sophomore Luke Vensel (Erie, PA/McDowell) and freshman Jake Stone (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) were the four players honored for the Lions.

Recipients of this honor must have a minimum GPA of 3.30 (on a 4.00 scale), a 4.10 (on a 5.00 scale) or an 82 (on a 100 point scale) during the spring semester. In addition, the student-athlete must display positive conduct on and off campus and be enrolled full-time at the member institution.
