Men's Volleyball Downs Wilson; Sprentz Hits 1,000 Assists

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's volleyball team defeated Wilson 3-0 (25-18, 26-24, 25-20) in non-conference action on Thursday evening.
The win marks the second time the Lions (6-7) have defeated the Phoenix (5-16) this season. Behrend posted a 3-1 victory on February 26. Sophomore setter Anthony Sprentz (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) entered tonight's match with 994 assists and he recorded 18 helpers to go over 1,000 for his career. He also tallied a double-double with 13 digs.
Tyler Herrmann (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) and Trenton Munk (Baden, PA/Ambridge) each tallied nine kills with just one error, while Robert McMaster (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) registered a team-best 17 digs.
Munk is now 33 kills away from breaking the program's all-time kills record of 678 set by Josh Oertly (2012-16).
As a team, the Lions hit .500 in the first set (12-0-24) and then tallied 16 kills out of the 25 points in the second set.
Dillon Hildebrand (Red Lion, PA/Red Lion) added eight kills and eight digs, while Munk also recorded six blocks.
Behrend returns to action tomorrow at Mt. St. Vincent at 2 p.m.
