Men's Volleyball Sweeps Wilson

ERIE, Pa.  – Anthony Sprentz (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) tallied a double-double with 29 assists and 10 digs to lead the Penn State Behrend men's volleyball team past Wilson 3-0 in non-conference action on Friday night in the Junker Center.

Dillon Hildebrand (Red Lion, PA/Red Lion) recorded a team-best 12 kills, while Tyler Herrmann (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) added 11 digs and nine kills to help the Lions (12-10) defeat the Phoenix (6-8) 25-18, 25-19, 25-19.

Up by two in the first set at 16-14, Hildebrand recorded four kill, while Josh Mathews (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili) and Joey Reynolds (Saegertown, PA/Saegertown) each tallied an ace to get Behrend ahead 24-18. Reynolds and Herrmann won the final point with a block on Nick Baxter's attack for a seven-point victory.

Hildebrand's serving broke open a two-point set in the second combined with a Cody Geis (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley) kill pushed the lead to 21-15. Jake Albert (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) earned the last offensive point for the Lions at the end to make it 25-19.

Behrend kept a steady lead in the third set. Herrmann registered five kills and Colin Dedert (Pittsburgh, PA/Plum) posted four kills to help put the final game away. The Lions recorded 19 kills in the set, including back-to-back kills from Herrmann and Sprentz for the match at 25-19.

Reynolds finished with five kills, four blocks and two digs.

Behrend returns to action on Tuesday against Medaille for its final home match of the season, beginning at 7 p.m.
