Behrend Men's Volleyball Voted Second in AMCC Preseason Poll

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend men's volleyball team was voted to finish second in the 2021 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Preseason Coaches Poll.

The Lions ended the abbreviated 2020 season with a 4-1 mark in the conference and were second in the standings, behind Geneva. The Golden Tornadoes headline the poll in first place after posting a 5-0 AMCC record last year. Penn State Altoona was chosen to finish in third place.

Senior outside hitter JP Goodsel (Corry, PA/Corry) returns after being named Second Team All-AMCC last season. He finished eighth in the conference in kills per set (2.50) and ninth in points per set (3.0). Lone junior Cody Schnur (Butler, PA/Butler) was also named Second Team All-Conference. The middle hitter led the AMCC in attack percentage (.360) and was ninth in blocks per set (.67).

Head Coach Phil Pisano enters his 10th year of mentoring the Lions. He boasts 115 career wins with the men. Behrend will look to compete in the AMCC Championships to be held on April 10 at the site of the No. 1 seed.
