Behrend Men's Volleyball Falls to Geneva in AMCC Match of the Week

ERIE, Pa. –  The Geneva Golden Tornadoes slipped past Penn State Behrend men's volleyball with a 3-1 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) victory on Saturday afternoon.

Score: Geneva 3, Penn State Behrend 1 (25-18, 19-25, 25-21, 26-24)
Records: Penn State Behrend (3-5, 2-3 AMCC), Geneva (9-5, 4-0 AMCC)

Key Moments:

* The Golden Tornadoes remain tied for first place in the AMCC with an unblemished 4-0 conference record
* Geneva made it its second 3-1 win over the Behrend Lions this season
* The Golden Tornadoes posted 19 blocks assists in the match led by Carter Milroy's eight total blocks
* It was a back-and-forth AMCC Match of the Week with Geneva winning the first set and the Lions tying it with a 25-19 second-set victory
* Logan Hering (North East, PA/North East) had seven kills on 15 attempts with one error in the second set to help even the match
* The Lions also never trailed in the second and got their final three points no kills by Hering, Dylan Buzalka (Carlisle, PA/Cumberland Valley) and Colin Dedert (Pittsburgh, PA/Plum)
* With the scored tied at 21-21 all in the third set, Geneva won four straight points to go ahead 2-1
* Hering tallied six kills while Dedert had five in the third set
* Dedert had his best offensive output in the fourth set with six kills, giving the Lions life when the Golden Tornadoes started pulling away
* Geneva had match point twice, but Dedert registered his last kill and then the Golden Tornadoes had an attack error to make it 24-all
* A kill and a Behrend error secured the final two points and the win for Geneva
* Dedert, who celebrated senior day, tied his career-high kills with 17
* Hering tallied a season-best 20 kills and 12 digs for his first collegiate double-double
* Buzalka made his first collegiate start and recorded three kills, three dig and four blocks
* Diego Ortiz (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Wesleyan Academy) posted his second double-double of the season with a team-best 20 assists and 13 digs
