Behrend Men's Volleyball Celebrates Seniors on Saturday; Lions Host Tri-Match

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's volleyball team hosts St. Vincent and Thiel on Saturday in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) tri-match in the Junker Center on Saturday. The Lions battle the Bearcats at 12 p.m. followed by the Tomcats at 5 p.m.

Penn State Behrend News & Notes:

* We will honor graduate student JP Goodsel (Corry, PA/Corry) and senior Cody Schnur (Butler, PA/Butler) before the first match
* Goodsel and Schnur helped the Lions to 49 overall wins and 26 conference victories (2018-2022)
* Goodsel was a part of the first-ever AMCC Championship team in 2018
* Goodsel ranks third in career service aces (66), fourth in kills per set (2.19), sixth in kills (658), seventh in blocks (139) and tied for eighth in digs (363)
* Schnur is second in career attack percentage (.367), while ranking fifth in blocks (190), eighth in kills per set (2.04) and ninth in kills (507)
* The Lions are 16-6 overall and 10-1 in the AMCC, good enough for first place in the conference standings
* Behrend is coming off a 3-0 loss to Mt. Union on Tuesday night (25-16, 25-22, 25-22)
* The Lions are 3-0 against the opposition this season, defeating Thiel twice (3-2, 3-0) and St. Vincent once (3-2)

St. Vincent News & Notes:

* The Bearcats enter the weekend with a 5-14 overall record
* St. Vincent is ranked seventh in the conference at 4-8
* The Bearcats are 2-2 in their last four matches, defeating Hilbert 3-0 and Mt. Aloysius 3-1
* St. Vincent dropped the first set against the Mounties 25-22 but won three unanswered for the AMCC win
* Matthew Minkin ranks fourth in the AMCC in kills per set (3.25)

* The Tomcats have a 7-15 overall record and a 6-5 conference mark
* Thiel is 4-2 in its last six matches, recently falling to Geneva 3-1 on Wednesday
