LATROBE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's volleyball team won a pair of Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) matches this weekend, defeating Mt. Aloysius 3-1 Saturday night and St. Vincent 3-1 on Sunday afternoon.
Match One:
Score: Penn State Behrend 3, St. Vincent 1 (25-20, 17-25, 25-15, 25-22)
Records: Penn State Behrend (7-2, 5-0 AMCC), St. Vincent (3-4, 2-2 AMCC)
Key Moments:
* The Behrend Lions had double-digit kills in each set
* Kyle Hoffman (Carlton, PA/Cochranton) had a team-best 14 kills and Dylan Buzalka (Carlisle, PA/Cumberland Valley) added nine
* Adrian Martinez (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Wesleyan Academy) posted 24 digs and four assists
* Diego Velazquez (Guaynabo, PR/Colegio San Jose) tallied 13 digs, two kills and two assists
* The Lions defeated the Bearcats for the second time this season
* With a one-point lead in the first set, Behrend went on a 5-0 spurt to pull away from St. Vincent at 18-12
* The Lions surrendered the second set and then won the final two
* In the fourth set and tied at 22-all, Alex Jackson (Cochranton, PA/Cochranton), Josh Elegeer (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) and Velazquez each registered a kill for the last three points and the match

Score: Penn State Behrend 3, Mt. Aloysius 1 (25-21, 25-13, 25-20)
Records: Penn State Behrend (6-2, 4-0 AMCC), Mt. Aloysius (2-4, 0-2 AMCC)
Key Moments:
* Eleven different players had at least one kill in the win
* Daniel Easly (Erie, PA/McDowell) led with eight kills and added four digs and two assists
* Elegeer registered six kills and six digs, while Jackson dished out 23 assists
* Caden Mealy (Meadville, PA/Meadville) served up three aces and Martinez posted eight digs
* Tied at 1-all in the match, the Lions jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the third set and stayed out front for a 25-14 win
* The fourth set had seven ties, broken at 11-all with three straight points by Behrend
* The Lions had match point twice and won on a Mt. Aloysius attack error at 25-21
