Behrend Men's Volleyball Tops AMCC Coaches Preseason Poll
The Penn State Behrend men’s volleyball team was voted to finish first in the 2025 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Preseason Coaches Poll.
ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's volleyball team was voted to finish first in the 2025 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Preseason Coaches Poll.
Last season, the Lions advanced to the AMCC semifinals and dropped a five-set decision to No. 1 St. Vincent. Behrend finished with a 12-16 overall record and a 5-4 mark in the AMCC, while having three players named to the All-AMCC team.
Junior outside hitter Kyle Hoffman (Carlton, PA/Cochranton) returns after being named Third Team All-AMCC in 2024. Hoffman posted 2.44 kills per set at a .232 attacking percentage, while knocking down 20 kills in the AMCC semifinal match a year ago. Middle hitter Lewis Rhodes (Reston, VA/South Lakes) is back for his third season after leading the AMCC with 1.16 blocks per set (ranking 4th in all of Division III). He finished with 73 kills and a .235 attack percentage.
The Lions open the 2025 season at Grove City on Wednesday, January 15. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
