Buffalo State Defeats Men's Volleyball

ROCHESTER, NY – The Penn State Behrend men's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to Buffalo State on the first day of the St. John Fisher Tournament on Friday night.

Score: Buffalo State 3, Penn State Behrend 1 (19-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-20)

Key Moments:

* Behrend won the first set 25-19 before the Bengals managed to win three unanswered sets
* The Lions used 11 kills and hit .529 in the first set, while holding Buffalo State to five kills
* Over the next three sets, the Bengals had double-digit kills in each set and kept Behrend below 10
* Kyle Hoffman (Carlton, PA/Cochranton) led with eight kills, eight digs, two assists and one ace
* Caden Mealy (Meadville, PA/Meadville) handed out 21 assists on 28 kills
* Lewis Rhodes (Reston, VA/South Lakes) tallied five blocks and four kills, and Daniel Easly (Erie, PA/McDowell) added seven kills and five digs
* As a team, the Lions had 12 blocks assists and three solo
* In the second set and the score tied at 19-all, Buffalo State recorded five straight points to get to match point
* Rhodes tallied a kill on the next point, but the Bengals got the final point at 25-21
* After winning the third set for a 2-1 lead, Buffalo State turned a one-point lead into a five-point win in the fourth
