Men's Volleyball Falls Twice

BUFFALO, NY – The Penn State Behrend men's volleyball team fell 3-1 to No. 11 Hobart and 3-0 to Nazareth at Buffalo State on Saturday evening.

Match One:
Score: No. 11 Hobart 3, Penn State Behrend 1 (25-19, 20-25, 25-21, 25-14)
Records: Penn State Behrend (4-9), No. 11 Hobart (16-2)

Key Moments:

* The Lions took one set from the nationally-ranked Statesmen
* Behrend only needed six kills to take the second set
* Tied at 11-all, Kyle Hoffman (Carlton, PA/Cochranton) tallied two kills and Lewis Rhodes (Reston, VA/South Lakes) added a kill for three straight points and give the Lions the lead for good
* Hobart held a 48-29 edge in kills and 42-34 advantage in digs
* Hoffman hit .231 and led with a team-best 11 kills and nine digs
* Daniel Easly (Erie, PA/McDowell) added eight kills, four aces and three digs
* Setter Luke Mumpower (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) managed 23 assists

Score: Nazareth 3, Penn State Behrend 0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-17)
Records: Penn State Behrend (4-10), Nazareth (9-6)

* In the first set, Nazareth came-from-behind to take the lead at 25-22
* The Golden Flyers only had one attack error in the second set to win 25-21
* Nazareth registered 13 kills in the third and only allowed six for the sweep
* The Golden Flyers hit .319 as a team overall
* Hoffman registered a .476 attack percentage on a team-best 12 kills
* Eddie Cebula (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) added double-digit kills with 12
