Lions Fall to Notre Dame in Home Opener

ERIE, Pa. – In their first home contest of the year, the Penn State Behrend men's water polo team fell to Notre Dame College 15-8 on Friday evening.

The Lions (0-3) jumped out to an early 3-2 first period lead. Junior Ali Khan (Lake Zurich, IL/Stevenson), a 2010 Honorable Mention All-American, netted his first two goals of the season for Behrend.  Freshmen Wes Atkinson (Camarillo, CA/Rio Mesa) and Kody Veit (Harleysville, PA/Souderton) also contributed with two goals apiece. Jake Salsgiver (Long Beach, CA/Wilson Classical) chipped in his first two collegiate goals in the contest as well.

Heading into the second period, The Notre Dame offense scored five unanswered goals to take control of the contest.  Despite a strong second half by the Lions, the Falcons never surrendered the lead.
