Lions Fall to Gannon

The Penn State Behrend men's water polo team fell to Gannon 18-6 on Sunday morning in the ninth place game of the Division III Southern Division Championships.

PRINCETON, NJ - The Penn State Behrend men's water polo team fell to Gannon 18-6 on Sunday morning in the ninth place game of the Division III Southern Division Championships.

After going 1-2 on day one of the tournament, the Lions were defeated by their cross town rival for the third time this season.

One game after eight different players scored, only two Behrend players were able to net goals.  Wes Atkinson (Camarillo, CA/Rio Mesa) and Ali Khan (Lake Zurich, IL/Stevenson) provided all the offense for the Lions.  Each player tallied a hatrick in the loss.

Hunter Backenstose (Dowingtown, PA/Downingtown East) made five saves and recorded one steal in net.
