George Washington Too Much For Lions

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Penn State Behrend men's water polo team fell 21-5 to George Washington on day one of the Navy Open in Annapolis, Maryland on Saturday.

The Lions (0-1) could not overcome a slow start after falling behind 15-1 in the first half.

Ali Khan (Lake Zurich, IL/Stevenson) led the offensive attack for Behrend with a hat trick.  Hunter Backenstose (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown East) contributed one goal.  Ted Dean (Ramona, CA/Ramona) netted his first collegiate goal in the loss.

Ty Elder (Brentwood, CA/Heritage) and Victor Nguyen (San Jose, CA/Evergreen Valley) each played in goal for Lions.  Elder tallied five saves with Nguyen recording seven.

Behrend has three remaining games at the Navy Open with game two scheduled for tonight at 8:20 p.m. against Lindenwood.
