The Penn State Behrend men's water polo team was defeated by Mercyhurst 16-5 on Sunday afternoon.

ERIE, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend men's water polo team was defeated by Mercyhurst 16-5 on Sunday afternoon.

After falling behind 4-2 in the opening quarter, the Lakers took command with seven goals in the second quarter.  The Lions (1-12) battled back in the second half, but could not catch Mercyhurst.

Ali Khan (Lake Zurich, IL/Stevenson) led the offense with two goals.  Jake DesRoches (Fairfax, VA/WT Woodson), Adam Glick (Bonita, CA/Bonita Vista), Matthew Johnson (Houston, TX/Cypress Falls), and Kody Veit (Harleysville, PA/Souderton) each contributed one goal.  

Behrend will be back in action on Friday against Cal Lutheran at the Claremont Convergence. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
