LEWISBURG, Pa. - Michal Izdinsky scored seven goals leading Salem to a 17-15 victory over the Behrend men's water polo team Sunday afternoon.
Izdinsky also added six assists for the Division II Tigers, who improved to 1-5 on the season.
Matthew Johnson (Houston, TX/Cypress Falls) scored five goals for the Lions (0-7), who put up their biggest offensive output of the season. Trailing 15-8 entering the final period, Behrend staged a furious rally, outscoring Salem 7-2. It wasn't enough, however, as the Tigers held on for a slim two goal win.
Freshman Logan McCartny (San Diego, CA/LaJolla) added three goals for the Lions and Aaron Figurski (Erie, PA/McDowell) and Victor Nguyen (San Jose, CA/Evergreen Valley) each netted two. Justin Vink (Los Angeles, CA/Granada Hills Charter), Kyle Crossen (Huntington Beach, CA/Edison), and Alex Chasar (North Wales, PA/North Penn) also got on the board for Behrend, who will host Gannon on Friday, September 20th, at 7 p.m.
